I use to think that in order to be a writer you had to constrain yourself to certain rules, that poetry had to have have a text book flow or it couldn’t be poetry. Oh how wrong I was, and how much time has taught me, the simple act of writing makes you a writer, a poem can be three words or thousands, it can be beautiful or ugly, meaningful or random. I feel that we all to often put constraints on things, art, in all forms, is what you want it to be, you are the creator, it’s god, you breathe life into what ever you put your heart into. I’ve learned that not everyone will like what you write, and that what ever you do should be good enough for you, if it makes you smile, that’s enough, YOU ARE ENOUGH, anything else is a bonus.
